Ugly Betty

I just finished watching the Pilot episode of Ugly Betty on ABC.

Five minutes into this apparent train wreck I was ready to find a rerun of Law and Order. Fifteen minutes into this intriguing idea, I was totally fascinated. Thirty minutes into this quirky new com/drama I was thinking. . . YES!!! I'm liking this!!!

Hollywood taking a shot at Hollywood AND the fashion and beauty industies. . . What's NOT to like about this? The casting is excellent!! America Fererra is a doll!!! I love her already!! Vanessa Williams playing the Queen Bitch is just TOO PERFECT!

Betty Suarez, a plain young woman from Queens with a few great ideas and a lot of desire.

Don't Pay The Ransom!!!

DAMN!!! I didn't realize it's been over two weeks since my last post. . . Between the increasingly insane work schedule and the Homeowners' Association From Hell, I just lost track. . .

Let's just say things will have to improve a bit to TOTALLY SUCK!!! . . . and leave it at that. . .

I know, I know. . . STOP WHINING LAUREN!!!

I'm not saying I completely agree with what "Jamie" is claiming, because I can see valid points in the links at the bottom of the artcle too. But, I understand her basic issues. She was supported initially, but an apparent change in management has caused some new issues. This is the sort of CRAP that Trans people get every day. The truth is, most Trans people really would like to just blend in and go about our business like everyone else. I CAN tell you with great certainty, Jamie didn't do this just to get on the 6 PM news.

I can remember a time time when people who went through a divorce became the subject of whispered comments and outright bad treatment by others. I remember when when "coming out of the closet" and telling the world you were Gay meant public ridicule and the very real possibility of physical harm. Somehow, we all (mostly) learned to get past that and just view people as people.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!! My NASCAR Team SUCKED!!

9-11 Never Forget

If you do nothing else on Monday, September 11, 2006, please take two minutes at 8:46 AM Eastern time to stop, face New York and Washington DC and honor the nearly 3000 souls who died as a result of the most cowardly and hateful act ever committed against the people of the United States of America.

There is no logic, no matter how twisted, to justify what happened on September 11, 2001. These were the acts of people totally devoid of compassion for their fellow man. These were the acts of selfish, cowardly people.

PLEASE. . . On November 7, 2006, go to the polls and make your voice heard. Tell our leaders that we have had enough of the insanity of the Bush administration. It's time to take this country back from Big Government, Big Oil and Big Business in general. It's the common man and woman who hold the real power in this country. . . .

If we all just get off our fat asses and do something about it!!!! It's NOT someone else's job. . .

It's OUR JOB!!!! Just DO IT!!!
