Strange Request

I need the advice of women who are VERY far-sighted. . . I'm talking functionally blind at distances under 4 feet. How the hell do you apply eye makeup without blinding yourself or looking like a circus act?? I've tried magnifying mirrors, but they don't seem to help much.

Any advice will be welcome. . .

I'm In Trouble Now!!!

Although this is not CC, this IS the look on his face earlier when I rolled back in my chair and ran over his tail. . . OOPS!!!

He is, needless to say, a little pissed off at Momma right now. . . I did notice that he keeps his tail tucked in when he's laying down though. . . . Poor baby!!!

No real damage done other than to his dignity. . . LOL!!!

What A Fucked Up Week!!!!

I spent the last five days watching a train wreck in slow motion. . . The worst part?. . . I know it's not over yet.

Plant closings and salaried staff cuts announced on Monday. . . Utter silence on Tuesday. . . Bloody Wednesday. . . As we watched person after person escorted to the door with the box of personal items from their desk. . . No less than a dozen I know personally and have enjoyed working with. . . . All the while wondering when the man with the empty box would arrive in my workspace. He never did.

Thursday and Friday were just trying to comprehend what is happening and trying NOT to think about what may happen next. . . The entire place has been at each other's throats for days. . . How anything got done is beyond me.

I'm going to rest. I'm going to concentrate on what I need and not think about the rest. . . I have a few days to try and get my shit back together and act like I'm motivated. . . Key word being. . . ACT

I've added a "Virtual CC" in the left column. Scroll down and tease him with your curser or click on the "More" box to pick up his favorite toy. If you position the toy just right, he'll entertain himself and you. . .

SHHEEEEEESSSS BAAAACK!!!!!

Thanks to all who left kind comments on my last entry. I have only a partial memory of typing that. . .

I actually felt well enough today to go back to work. . . That doesn't mean I WANTED to go. . .

I think I may have slept more yesterday than CC did. . . Outsleeping a cat takes some doing. . . As best I can recall, the routine was something like:

Sleep two hours, get up, spend 20 minutes in the bathroom, rinse mouth, attempt to swallow something with nutritional value. . . . Repeat. . .

By last evening, I felt well enough to finally eat something (and it stayed down BONUS!!), comment on a couple of blogs, change my sheets and fall down again for another few hours. . . Unfortunately, by 4 AM I was wide awake. . .

If you haven't already, go wish Sooner a Happy Birthday!!!

More later. . . HUGGSS!!

. . . . . 9:45 PM. . .

Sorry, I had to eat something. . . It's nice to have my appetite back. . . Plus, CC was bugging me for his dinner. . . He's SOOOOOOOO spoiled. . .

We did come to an agreement at the office today about who started this latest round of intestinal terrorism. . . Fortunately, for him, he took a vacation day. . . Otherwise, he would most likely be part of an overpass on I-94. . . No, I'm NOT kidding. . . We KNOW people. . . If he's lucky, we'll all cool off by Monday. . .

Our crack(ed) local weather teams have determined that tonight we may get rain (OK, they got that part right), freezing rain, sleet and up to 7 inches of snow by noon Saturday. . . Gee guys, all you left out was the fucking Tornados, Monsoon and Volcano eruption!!! Next time, at least try to work an Earthquake in there, just to keep us on our toes!!!! Anything to put up that "BREAKING NEWS" alert I guess. . .

YEP!!!! Lauren is feeling MUCH better, thank you. . .LOL!!!

This-N-That

First of all, thank you to all who voted for my entry in the Caption Contest. That "Deer in the Headlights" expression just begged to be messed with. . . That is one skanky lookin' woman LOL!!!

Speaking of skanky. . . Did anyone else catch a glimpse of Drew Barrymore in that GAWDAWFUL!!! green outfit on the Globes last night?? It looked like she got dressed at a Goodwill Thrift Store. . . And Drew sweetie. . . Here's a tip. . . WEAR A FUCKING BRA!!! You have SAGGY BOOBS!!!! . . . I feel MUCH better now. . .

I saw my Dr. this afternoon and he was pleased with my bloodwork. He doesn't think I have any immediate concerns about Diabetes as long as I watch my food intake. . . He did scold me for the 10 lbs. I gained since I was there in early December (I just about SHIT when I got on the scales!!!). . . BAD LAUREN!!! And he got on my ass about the smoking too. . . I know. . . I need to quit. . .

To answer Chatty's questions. . . CC is doing very well. He has TOTALLY taken over and reminds me of that frequently. . . I'd guess that he's about 12 lbs. and no, he doesn't hog the bed at all. He curls up at the foot and doesn't bug me to get up in the morning. He's really quite well-behaved.

There IS one little thing. . . And there is no way to put this politely. . . The boy has gas. . . He farts. . . A LOT!!! I may bring in Sooner to do the description. . . No, I won't. . . . It may just be the food he was getting at the shelter, since it seems to be getting a little better. . . I hope so. . . Those colon explosions could gag a rabid Racoon. . . Think Sooner after an all-nighter of Coronas and free tacos. . . LOL!!!

It's time to fix some dinner and serve my Master. . . .

Martin Luther King Jr.

While many of you are too young to remember the turbulent times of the 1960s, you can look around you today and see the results of Dr. King's work. It was his efforts toward bringing peace and brotherhood to people of all colors and ethnic backgrounds that helped to stop the open discrimination practiced in most parts of this nation.

Please take a moment today to thank Dr. King for all he has done. He paid the ultimate price for his vision and his efforts toward equal rights for all. While we have come a long way in the past 50 years, we still have a long way to go. One day, the color of our skin, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation will no longer be a factor in how people see each other. That day cannot come too soon for me.

Thank you Martin for all you have done. . . You truly made a difference. . .

Peace and Love

Where's My Cattle Prod??

Just when I think I've seen it all, somebody does something totally ridiculous to prove me wrong. Yesteday's grocery run provided another fine example. I'm looking through the meat case and a woman a few feet away is yacking on her cell phone. Bad enough, but then she picks up a roast and proceeds to take a picture of it with her camera/phone and asks;
"What about that one? OK, hold on. . . *click. . . send* how about this one?"
Is this person so incapable of making a simple decision like which pot roast to buy that they have to call the husband or (worse yet) her mother to get a second opinion? It took all I had to not burst out laughing. This wasn't some ding-a-ling teenybopper, but a grown woman. Was she in danger of a severe beating by hubby if the roast wasn't "just so?" I guess being born with a mind of my own (fucked up and abused as it is) isn't just an accident of birth after all. I wonder if she calls her mother when she's getting dressed in the morning to get wardrobe approval?
Then on to the ckeckout lane. . . . I wrote a long time ago (on a blogsight far far away) that I will not go though a grocery store check-out lane if a man is running the register. It just creeps me out. I recall Denise commenting that she has this reaction also. So, after finding a lane occupied by a female cashier, I am treated to a 20-something nitwit who is talking on the store phone to someone about her boyfriend and what they were doing later that night. I get ZERO eye contact, no hello, nothing. . . "Credit or Debit?" She hands me the register tape without stopping her conversation and still hasn't made eye contact. Now I'm PISSED!! "Excuse me, could you please hang up the phone and do your job?" THAT got eye contact. . . . and an AMEN from the woman behind me in line. . . And no. . . she didn't hang up the phone. I'm sure I was her "Asshole of the day" story at the bar last night . . . .
As JackieSue would say. . . . "Fuck me 'till I eat liver."
Later!!!

Thanks Denise!!!

Many thanks to Denise for my new look here. This is exactly what I have been looking for. The colour scheme is much more to my liking and I think it'll be more flexible than my old look. Just a few minor tweaks (after I SAVE and study the template a bit more LOL!!) and I'll be stylin'!!!!

Meet CC

Hi all!! This (not so) little guy is CC, my new Master. He came home with me tonight and in less than two hours has taken over the house. I have been on pins and needles for the past two days, waiting to pick him up from the shelter.

CC is a five year old male kitty. His previous pet had to give him up when her job changed. She now has to travel on a regular basis, and could not afford to board him. Her loss is my beautiful find.

And just in case you are thinking this guy looks familiar, he should. CC is virtually an identical twin to my Boris, who I lost several years ago. If you click on my November archive, you'll see Boris. I nearly fainted when I first saw him up close.

So. . . CC is busy checking out the house, snooping into all of my stuff and letting me know that this is no longer my home. But, I can stay here as long as I feed him and cater to his every whim. . . Like I could say no. . .

More F**king Rain!!!!

It 's pouring rain. . . AGAIN!!. . . I really don't believe this shit!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad it's ONLY rain. . . At the rate it's coming down, this would be a MAJOR snow storm if it was about 10 degrees colder. . . We may get that this weekend, but still too early to know for sure. . .

The older I get, the more I hate winter and the more I hate Michigan. . . Granted, I don't have to shovel the snow (Condo. . . I have PEOPLE for that LOL!!), but I still have to drive in it. And, every winter the budgets are tighter, so there are fewer people to drive the snow plows and salt trucks. . .

At the rate we are going with Auto job losses (and all the collateral damage that follows) and state budget cuts, Michigan will officially close (by my calculations) sometime in 2008. . . Last person out please blow out the candle and douse the campfire. . . . Never mind. . . The rain killed them both LOL!!!

Feeling Better Today

Thanks again to all who came to my rescue last night. I haven't had an episode like that in a while. . .

I had my YAHOO! Radio going this morning as I was surfing through the Blogs and an old R.E.M. song from the early 90s came on. I found it over at http://www.videocodezone.com but it won't play for some reason. I found the lyrics instead. . . Talk about timing!!!!

Everybody Hurts

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you’re sure you’ve had enough of this life, well hang on.
Don’t let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes.

Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it’s time to sing along.
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go, (hold on)
When you think you’ve had too much of this life, well hang on.

Everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends.
Everybody hurts. Don’t throw your hand.
Oh, no. Don’t throw your hand.
If you feel like you’re alone, no, no, no,
you are not alone

If you’re on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think you’ve had too much of this life to hang on.
Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes.
And everybody hurts sometimes.
So, hold on, hold on.Hold on, hold on.
Hold on, hold on. Hold on, hold on.
(Everybody hurts. You are not alone.)
I hadn't heard this song in years. . . It sure came along at just the right time.

FUCK IT!!!!

I have been crying most of the day. It started in the grocery store this morning for no apparent reason and hasn't stopped. . . I'm so tired of being alone. Just once, I would like to have someone in my life who accepts me as I am and can see past all the superficial bullshit. I'm a trangendered person. . . I didn't choose this!!!! . . . It's the hand I was dealt. . .

Is it asking too much to have someone just hold me and tell me I'm OK? I'm at a point where I'm not sure if I even want to try any more. . .

I am so angry. I just want to be the woman I was supposed to be. I don't need to be pretty, just feminine enough that someone might want to have me. . . Guess I'm asking for too much. . ..

Fuck it!!!

Postal Rates, Car Trouble and Stuff

Don't forget that US postage rates increase beginning Sunday, Jan. 8. First-Class postage will increase to $0.39 for the first ounce. I'm sure the lines will be long at the Post Office on Monday, so go this week for any 2 cent stamps you may need. . . . You can check out the other rate changes at http://www.usps.com . . . Don't want those bills to be late. . .

Apologies to those of you I was chatting with last night. My elderly neighbor called and was stuck on the Freeway after her car died. The State Police were there when I pulled up and had a tow truck coming. . . I just gave her a ride home. I'm sure she'll be at my door with baked goodies any day now. . . She doesn't take NO for an answer . . . EVER!! LOL!!!

People have come up with some great captions for the photo contest on Denise's blog. . . What a great idea this was. . . We all get some much-needed laughs and an opportunity to take pot-shots at Forrest Gump (credit to Jackie Sue) at the same time. . . This should be an Olympic Event!!!! The Blogspot Olympics. . . . Hmmmmmmmmm. . .

Last. . . Sooner (soonerfan78) has been in rare form the last few days. I need to learn to go to the bathroom BEFORE I read his latest entries. . . He had me laughing so hard this morning I nearly wet myself LOL!! If you don't read his blog, you should. It's crude, lewd and socially unacceptable, but the man is just plain funny!!! I want some of whatever he's taking dammit!!!! LOL!!!!

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!!!

Mr. B.Y.G & Other Ramblings

I just finished leaving a comment on Mr. BYG's blog. . . What a great time he and R had with the little ones and family. . . I'm MORE than a little jealous.

I was particularly happy to read that he enjoyed seeing Brokeback Mountain. . . I tried 3 times to go see it, but it was sold out (it's only been in one theatre here until this week).

Going back to work today was more difficult than ever. . . I just can't get excited about going to a job where I'm the running joke and get no respect for what I do. . . And do very well. It's really sad how attitudes toward me changed when I stopped hiding the fact that I'm NOT just one of the boys. . . Even though I don't go out of my way to look or act feminine at work, they have obviously picked up on a few things. HEY PEOPLE!!! How about just accepting me as I am??? Same person you've been working with for almost 7 years. . . FUCKTARDS!!

OK. . . Enough of my Tuesday night Pity Party. . . Just thought I'd pop in and let folks know I wasn't abducted by aliens. . . Might be fun though. . . .

To quote the Bard Apos. . . . Blog Cone!!!

HUGGSS!!

BTW: Stop by Denise's blog and enter a caption for the photo. . . I'm working on a couple more. . . It's just a great photo with so many possibilities. . .
